The sports netting manufactured by the company of Fabio Ghilardi is distributed by the main clubs of Brazil for use in football grounds and tennis and volleyball courts. The plant, opened more than 17 years ago, weaves these well crafted nets. "To make a net for indoor soccer can take an hour and a half or more. For a volleyball net about 30 minutes. I can make them rapidly because I´ve had many years of experience, since 1992." our manager Ângela says.

When Fábio became involved he changed a lot in the way we were working. He managed to overcome the difficulties and to expand production. He started with the basics, reviewing the costs - for water, light, telephone, rent, employees, maintenance of machines - the first steps to reducing expenses in the company.
But more, after advice from our consultants, all money earned and spent by the company is now recorded each day. Fábio introduced quality control, reduced supply, invested in machines and formed a partnership with the suppliers. Each of the stages of this transition was accompanied by computerisation. "Software is complete and is used in all parts of the business. It manages supply and stock control, the register of customers, direct mail, and all stages of customer orders and invoicing. This reduces costs eliminating most of the paperwork. What was formerly done on paper is now held in the computer." Fábio explains.
In the first seven years, Fábio reduced by 30% the costs of the company. Today, the price of its products is more competitive and there has been an increase of 15% in the number of our customers. What we guarantee to them is quality control. Our customers don´t need to worry about having to find a new supplier as a result of bad workmanship. They don´t have to pay again to replace poor quality netting nor for the associated freight costs, as they would with products from a lesser manufacturer.
Our consultant Ricardo spent a full day in the plant, following the production process. He found ways to reduce costs and improve productivity. The costs of buying raw materials were reduced including better conditions of delivery and mode of payment. Also some of our suppliers became partners in the company.

But the biggest transformation was in the production process. Much of this had previously been performed by other companies. With the help of an engineer we developed new machines and started to produce almost everything. From the basic raw materials we produce nylon cord, manufacture the nets and finally complete the packaging. This was achieved with an investment of some R$200,000. As a result, product prices were reduced, quality improved and sales increased.
